The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister has urged Pakistanis to live abroad to avoid unnecessary travel so that deserving persons can travel on a priority basis.
Earlier, Special Assistant for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari had said that PIA had reduced fares for special flights to the UAE by 20 to 30 percent.
In a statement, Zulfi Bukhari said the decision to reduce fares was taken to provide maximum relief to stranded citizens in the UAE. He said that the fares of flights from UAE to Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar have been reduced to 1110 dirhams. Tickets for Multan and Karachi of UAE will be available at 957 dirhams and 810 dirhams respectively.
Zulfi Bukhari further said that the decision to reduce fares for special flights will be effective from April 25. We demand bids from all airlines, the first priority is given to PIA if it is the lowest. Now, preference is being given to airlines that can offer cheap airfare to citizens.
